Former siding
Title:  Former siding
Description:  There was never a station at Meekerville (which is within sight of Forestport) but there was a stub siding. Michael Kudish lists it as Taffarn's and has it on the right (east) side of the main. Evidence would suggest it was on the west but with this much vegetation it is hard to say for sure.

Anos Siding

Description:  In the late 1990s the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern was hauling stone from the Hansen Quarry about a mile north of this spot. Trains were loaded directly on the Adirondack Main. This posed an operational issue with the then new Utica to Thendara passenger service. It was decided a siding would be built here where there was once a siding called Anos which was the name of the family that had land here. There was never a station at this location.

Mile Post 38
Title:  Mile Post 38
Description:  Unfortunatly stone shipments ended with the CSX takeover of Conrail in New York State and the siding remained unfinished. The operating plan would have called for the passenger train to take the siding, and then wait for the freight to travel south to clear the main. This saved the freight having to travel 9 miles to Snow Junction to clear the main.
